{"id":156,"date":"2011-02-01T04:01:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T10:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rickspicscorner.com\/blog\/?p=156"},"modified":"2012-07-02T23:20:16","modified_gmt":"2012-07-03T04:20:16","slug":"what-the-hell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/what-the-hell\/","title":{"rendered":"What the Hell&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t sleep anyway so I worked on the project some more.\u00a0 I found there were issues with the black and white version of the photo I was using.\u00a0 The issues came from adjustments I had made to the color filters in the black and white.\u00a0 The reason I made the adjustments was to lighten some of the darker tones in the photo.\u00a0 Well, this led to a few problems with skin tone (especially when both coaches and Tarvaris Jackson and Joe Webb looked like they had nasty skin rashes).\u00a0 I went back in, removed the adjustments to the tones, and found that the darker tones actually help the picture.\u00a0 Well, without further ado, here it is:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_157\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Jackson-Webb.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-157\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-157\" title=\"Jackson Webb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Jackson-Webb-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Jackson-Webb-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Jackson-Webb-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.artistrichardcuster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Jackson-Webb-950x633.jpg 950w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-157\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always referred to the Vikings former Head Coach as Papa Smurf (every time I saw him his beard reminded me of Papa Smurf), so I decided to turn the coaches and players into Smurfs (albeit very large and very human looking Smurfs).\u00a0 I went with the garish colors on the clothing because these are colors one normally does not associate with the NFL.\u00a0 I did have the field painted purple, but there were some mistakes I made in the coloring process that show up when the layer is visible.\u00a0 Unfortunately I&#8217;m going to have to start that part all over again, but that should be no bother.<\/p>\n<p>At this point I would estimate I&#8217;m about 3\/4 of the way done in the coloring aspect.\u00a0 Then I&#8217;ll do\u00a0the touchups on the bleed areas\u00a0and some outlines to give it maybe a comic book feel (perhaps &#8220;The Smurfs Play in the Superbowl&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>For those geeky\/nerdy types &#8211;
